Scottish Design Awards Nomination
We're delighted to share the news that we've been nominated for a Scottish Design Award in the website category, for our work with Axis Animation.
You can see what great company we're in on the SDA site - here are the other nominees:
- Teviot. Founded in 1983 with offices in Edinburgh and Minneapolis, for their own website
- We are AD (AKA Alienation Digital). With offices in London, Manchester and Glasgow and over 17 years in the business, for the Ben Romach and People Make Glasgow websites.
- Whitespace. Founded in 1997, with a team of over 70 in Edinburgh, for the Dundee Contemporary Arts website.
The Axis Animation site is one of a suite of three designed and built to showcase the fantastic work being produced by Axis and their sister companies Flaunt Productions and Axis VFX. It was launched alongside a rebranding.
The sites use the latest web techniques to serve the highest quality content appropriate for each visitor's screen, from mobile to 4K Ultra HD. They also provide an easy to use way of creating and sharing playlists for website users and Axis staff alike, which has proved an invaluable tool in pursuing new business.
We've already written up some of the technical background of the project, and been awarded Processwire site of the week, with some high praise!
Not only are the sites really gorgeous, but they're also extremely flexible – skilfully crafted to work with screen sizes ranging from mobile all the way to 4K.
Best of luck to all the nominees, the award ceremony takes place Thursday 21st May in the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
Making Our Marque
New Now's distinctive logo was created by Paul Humphreys, building on 20 or so years of experience working with major brands.
The Logo
The logo uses negative space to create a forward-pointing arrowhead between 3 vibrantly-coloured leaf motifs.
This versatile shape is distinctive when used independently as an icon or avatar - for example, on our Twitter profile and also on our business cards.
