Adding a novel strand to what was already a multi-channel campaign, The Gate worked with New Now to develop a Twitter bot.
@Roadbotscot monitored tweets from Scottish road users, providing appropriate responses when they were tweeting about a variety of traffic-related issues.
It replied with relevant road safety banter, backed up with campaign links and hashtags, and was also ready to follow up to any replies.
A real-time web console, and stats captured throughout, enabled reporting on the bot’s effectiveness.
