The Gate: iBeacon-enabled app and website

Powerful first-person testimonies are helping Community Justice Scotland change perceptions about how we rehabilitate offenders.

New Now were approached by The Gate due to their experience in building bluetooth beacon (iBeacon) enabled apps to create an Android and iPhone app and a website for Community Justice Scotland’s Second Chancers campaign.

The campaign included a touring exhibition of canvases, accompanied by audio interviews with the participants. The interviews were accessed exclusively via the mobile app when the visitor was in close proximity to a canvas.

The app also highlights upcoming exhibition dates and locations with directions.

The website expanded on the stories further by incorporating short films and background information.

Update: The exhibition relaunched in November 2019 with 8 new stories and an update to the app, and has now visited over 40 locations.
